AI security & assurance

Verifying that AI systems in healthcare are actually secure — not just governed.

I build detection methods for data poisoning, backdoor attacks, and adversarial vulnerabilities in machine learning systems deployed in healthcare and critical infrastructure — and work toward making that verification as routine as the governance frameworks (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001) that already call for it.

Profile
Suresh Tamang

I'm a graduate researcher in Artificial Intelligence at the University of the Cumberlands, based in Fort Worth, Texas. My work focuses on the security and trustworthiness of AI systems deployed in healthcare and other critical infrastructure, with an emphasis on detecting data poisoning, backdoor attacks, and adversarial vulnerabilities in deployed machine learning models.

I'm building open-source tools aimed at making independent AI security assurance practical for organizations that can't rely on governance policy alone — the technical layer underneath frameworks like NIST's AI Risk Management Framework and ISO/IEC 42001.
